Dr. Xiao Han Li

Xiao Han Li  (Dip. Ac., M. Ac., Dr. Ac.)

Dr. Xiao Han Li joined the clinic in August, 2015 after completing a Masters degree in Acupuncture in China. He is an active member of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC), and a registered acupuncture provider with Medavie/Blue Cross.

Dr. Li completed his Master’s research and clinical training in Acupuncture under the direct supervision of Prof.You-Ping Hu, Principal Professor of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Technique, and Professor of Science of Acupuncture and Moxibustion at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine* in Chengdu, China. Together they co-authored two peer-reviewed research papers which have been published in Chinese medical journals. In addition to his advanced training in Acupuncture, Dr. Li also studied Tibetan and Chinese Herbal Medicine under the supervision of Ci Ren Deng Zhu, one of the foremost herbalists in Sichuan.

Dr Li specializes in the treatment of infertility and gynaecological disorders, anxiety, stress and sleep disorders,  and in the treatment of muscle and joint problems. He is currently completing a PhD in Traditional Chinese Medicine of Gynecology and Internal Medicine through the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine**.

Dr. Qing Li Murphy (Dr. TCM, Dr. Ac., CMD)

Dr. Qing Li Murphy comes from a long line of TCM practitioners in China. Her family has been practicing Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 100 years. Dr. Li Murphy started learning Traditional Chinese Medicine at the age of fifteen as an apprentice in her uncle’s clinic. She later attended the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China*, and was awarded her Bachelor of Medicine degree in 1989. She practiced medicine in China, specializing in Obstetrics and Acupuncture for 15 years until 2004, when she emigrated to Canada. After a hiatus to learn English, Dr. Li Murphy opened her practice in Halifax in 2008. In total she has more than 25 years of clinical experience treating patients here and in China.

Dr. Li Murphy is an active member of the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC) and the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia (ATCMANS). She is a registered acupuncture provider with Medavie/Blue Cross.
